The D in violence 🙅

Hello readers !😃

I recently came across a video that provoked me to write on DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Since we rarely go out nowadays it is needless to say that these are the only ways in which we can ameliorate our thought process and stay updated.😌
I feel there are two classes of people, there's one class where conversations  about feminism going too far take place, and in the other one ahh... is the one with domestic violence, obviously this one isn't the only one with domestic violence but it's maximum in here.
Anyways these two topics aren't spoken about together but I call them opposites...the exact opposites.
One talks about women's rights and the other one about disdaining them and their rights...I am aware that there is domestic violence against men too...but hey! It's rare.
When I used the word classes I meant groups divided not on the financial basis or intellectual basis but based on their understanding towards women.
Where one class is keen enough that none of the women's rights are violated, the other one is still worried about their safety rather not ready to accept that women have lives too.
Whenever such blogs and articles are written and documentaries made, they are not seen by the right people (the people who still believe that women are subject to their father and husband )....hello it's the 21st century
I know I haven't seen enough, haven't come across a lot of perspectives and opinions...in short, I am not experienced enough ......this is what adults say to shut the teenage voices up and then flex about the experiences they've had and perspectives they've heard, but if they are unwilling to listen to our opinions they haven't seen all the sides of a problem because one-fifth of the population is us.
There's still one class where domestic violence is common in every house.
And I have a lot to talk about feminism....I believe that feminism hasn't gone too far but it's not completely ineffective too....it has made a lot of changes in society but the problem is the distribution of its understanding in people.
To be clear enough....I feel feminism has been like the green revolution,it has helped some parts of the society but the remaining parts aren't willing to accept it or I would say the topic hasn't even reached them.
The green revolution helped northern India to develop just because they were ready to accept it as a means of development....same way some classes made an effort and got the result.

For women to come up and speak up we need to make this clear that violence against them is a men's issue and not their fault as said by an American writer of a very famous writing- The Macho Paradox.

I believe that in India this issue is being normalized and justified by a lot of people. People here raise slogans and start rallies against deaths due to dowry and sexual assaults, which I believe are very serious issues and yet it's too late to talk about them. These people would never believe that domestic violence i.e even a slap is a crime too. I get a bit too sentimental and of the heart about a slap thinking that a girl with or without any dreams leaves her own family and home to stay with a known or an unknown man out of love or compulsion by the society, creates rather procreates a family for him, takes care of his parents and...gets a slap in return. Could there be any valid reason for a this slap...?. Usually, when this issue is taken into consideration and put forward not just men but even some women regard it as needless and nugatory. It is because they find it common in every household. And women anticipate that it is  shameful to talk about it openly as they are worried about their husband's prestige.

SHAME, SILENCE AND SECLUSION - KILLS!

Except for reading some books and case studies, I tried to minimalize my research in order to keep my opinions my own.

You are free to share your opinions below.😇😊

  1. On point!
I liked the way you compared feminism with Green Revolution. And yes! There is a lot of awareness now being raised(which has been effective,no doubt) but that awareness has possibly not reached to the people who really need to understand that. But it's good to know that many men support feminism nowadays ❤️

Justice for Indian Press - Paranjoy Guha Thakurta

Hello readers 👋 Before my blogs get too personal. I thought of writing on something that is personal yet not so personal.  Paranjoy Guha Thakurta- Journalist , a documentary filmmaker and the author of gas wars and sue the messenger. He has been a guest faculty in IIMs and taught in JNU and university of delhi . And is one of the most veracious reporters around us today (Atleast that's what you feel when you read his books, he fearlessly targets capitalism, prefers staying unknown, could not be bought even by the richest man like many other journalists can be)  Image : Wikipedia   Subject to copyright infringement   It all started when the editor of a portal named the citizen- seema mustafa asked paranjoy to write or rather compile the articles and information about the adani topic. He wrote his first article about PM's visit to australia along with Gautam Adani and Arundhati Bhattacharya (The head of SBI).He also wrote about the rumours that SBI would give a billio...

Much needed mental vitamins 🖤

Hello readers! Recently so me things gave me chills , things I never thought would happen to someone around me or someone so close to me as my brother. Let me put it this way, we had to pick up my brother from his school 2 hours earlier than his regular school time for around 3 days in a row. The reason as told by his principal was t hat he misses his mother  (he is 12 yrs old). Funny right ? the first day when he came home given this reason it was funny for us as well. But later when we had to pick him up early for three consecutive days...it wasn't funny. He did unusual things like waking up at the midnight and completing his incomplete notebooks or crying about not having friends (because he was a new student), which was strange for us, because he never really cared about finding friends and completing his incomplete notebooks before. On one not very fine day we got a call from the school again asking to pick him up once again because he misses his mother and just wanted ...

The foxes' land 🦚 - Not HCU's not the government's.

Hello readers 👋 I know I'm way too late on writing about this issue but I just couldn't get enough time to get involved in this one as i get with the other ones.  But anyways it’s not every day that you see students getting arrested over bulldozers right?!?! but that’s exactly what happened at the University of Hyderabad (HCU) on March30, 2024. What started as a peaceful protest turned into full-blown clashes, with bulldozers entering the 400-acre stretch of land (Kancha Gachibowli) that’s been a point of contention for over two decades. The Telangana government planned to clear the forested area to make space for an IT park, but let’s be honest this wasn’t about just land, it’s about so much more. On March 29, bulldozers started rumbling towards the disputed land, and that’s when the students decided to make their voices heard. Over 50 students were arrested for blocking the bulldozers, and after a few hours, they were released on personal bonds. But that didn’t stop the prot...
